GIS WebTech Announces Winners of 2024 Technology Leadership Award

GIS WebTech launched our technology leadership award six years ago because we believe that economic developers who advance the profession by applying GIS technology in innovative ways should be recognized for their groundbreaking work.

Just as we brought online site selection up to modern standards when we launched our first application in 2017, we likewise broke new ground when we created the GIS WebTech Award. Until the creation of the GIS WebTech Award there was no recognition for economic developers providing technology leadership.

Today we are issuing a call for nominations for the 2024 GIS WebTech Award for Leadership in GIS Technology for Economic Development. Nominations are open until close of business on August 31.

The award is open to everyone in economic development, whether a researcher, a technology professional, a marketer, a project manager, or a generalist. Nominees can work for any type of organization that promotes economic development, whether government, non-profit, or for profit.

Best of all, there are no forms to fill out or web links to follow. To nominate an economic developer simply drop me an email at ron@giswebtech.com describing their work and how it solved a problem or advanced a project. If possible, please include a snip, image file or link to a video illustrating the work. Be sure to include your email and cell phone number so I can get back to you, as well as the contact information for the person you are nominating.
