Economic developers typically utilize multiple technology tools, reflecting the broad requirements of the profession. For some economic developers the complexity of working across multiple tools can be overwhelming, and the challenge of remaining efficient and optimizing across the tools is daunting.
Shane Chadwick, Business Intelligence and Marketing Manager at Florida’s Great Northwest, took it as a challenge. FGNW is a regional economic development organization covering 12 counties in the northwest portion of the state, with unique economic development assets and a well-defined strategy. FGNW, along with its investors, are a unified voice promoting, advocating and collaborating for Northwest Florida as a top location for business.
Shane joined FGNW in 2018 after completing the University of Southern Mississippi’s graduate program in economic development, and is responsible for proactive lead generation, economic development research, and project management. Shane immediately took responsibility for the multiple technology and data tools used by FGNW, and he set about developing a proprietary process for integrating the technologies to provide an end-to-end lead generation and outreach system. Shane’s proprietary process allows him to identify growing companies, develop leads, put together a prospect-specific prospectus, and launch a custom outreach campaign.
